Who is responsible
The controller of the personal data processed on this site is Paloma Macetko, who runs L around the world (lpelomundo.com.br), under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018, the LGPD). The contact page is the channel for any request.
What data we collect
When you send a message through the contact form, we record:
- your name and e-mail;
- the message text and the site language;
- the IP address and the date it was sent, for security and abuse prevention.
Outside the form, we do not ask you to sign up nor collect browsing data for analytics or advertising.
How we use it
- to reply to your message;
- to correct information you point out;
- to protect the site against spam, fraud and attacks.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering those who contact us and keeping the site secure (art. 7, IX, LGPD).
Who we share it with
Your data is never sold. To work, the site relies on a few services, which may process data outside Brazil (art. 33, LGPD):
- Plunk: delivers contact form messages by e-mail;
- Cloudflare Turnstile: checks that the form was sent by a person and not a bot;
- Google Fonts: serves the site's fonts, which involves sending your IP address to Google;
- Instagram (Meta): displays embedded videos and may use its own cookies when they load.
Votes and reports
When you like, dislike or report an error on a news story or video, we store the action, the reason (if you write one) and three identifiers turned into an irreversible code (hash): your IP address, a random number your browser keeps and a "fingerprint" of the device (browser, screen, time zone). They are used only to ensure one action per person on each item and are never stored in plain text.
Cookies and local storage
The site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It only stores in your browser the fact that you dismissed the language suggestion. Instagram videos may set Meta cookies under Meta's own policy.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of the exchange. You may request deletion at any time.
Security
We use an encrypted connection (HTTPS), restricted access to data, bot verification and submission limits. No system is completely immune to failures, but we handle your data with care.
Your rights
Under the LGPD (art. 18), you may at any time:
- confirm whether we process your data and access it;
- correct incomplete or outdated data;
- request the deletion of your data;
- withdraw consent, where applicable.
To exercise these rights, use the contact page. You may also file a complaint with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
Changes
This Policy may be updated at any time. The version published on this page is always the one in force.
