G20 and COP30: a respected Brazil.

Far right

The foreign minister embraced Brazil being an “international pariah”.

Why it matters

A respected country attracts investment, agreements and a voice in major decisions. Brazil chaired the G20 in 2024, when it launched the Global Alliance against Hunger, and hosted COP30 in Belém in 2025. In 2020, Bolsonaro's foreign minister said: “let us be that pariah”.

It made the news
